Reason for Vet Check: HBC, skin issues, possible mange, wounds on face and ears, bleeding from tail and hind legs
Signalment: 2 year old NM Pit Bull

Musculoskeletal: ambulatory all 4 limbs

Neuro: wnl
Behavior: BAR, sweet
Oropharynx, Dental: wnl
Ears, Eyes, Nose, Throat: AU - erythematous, lichenified, large amt yellow exudate
Respiratory: wnl
Cardiac: wnl
Abdomen: wnl
Reproductive/Urogenital: wnl
Skin/PLN: general erythema and hair thinning esp around eyes, lips, legs and feet. All 4 feet erythematous and swollen. Generalized crusting of integument. 1inch x 2inch firm SQ mass left lateral of tail base.
***Assessment: Otitis externa, Pyoderma***
***Plan: ear cytology (AD - tntc rods and cocci/hpf, AS - 20-30 rods and cocci/hpf), skin scrape 4 different areas all negative for mites and eggs, ear cleaning***
Medical treatments: Clindamycin 300mg PO q24hr x 21 days, Mometamax AU SID x 14 days, Hydroxyzine 50mg 1 PO BID x 7 days, Carprofen 125mg SID x 3 days
Behavior Observation: BAR, sweet
Personality: Carl is one HANDSOME crusty man. He can be a little woof-y in the kennels when you're loving on his neighbors and not on him, but it's only because he'd really really like to lick your face. He seems to have only suffered minor injuries after being hit by a SEPTA bus and brought to ACCT, but his skin could definitely use a little TLC. The kenneled environment is not doing him any favors and he'd love to cuddle up and let you be his nurse. Come in to ACCT and check out Carl today!
