United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity (UCP) has been making a difference in the lives of children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities for over 60 years.

UCP is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill an exciting, available opportunity in our Development
Office.
The successful candidate will demonstrate dependability, honesty, integrity, professionalism,
strong communications/interpersonal and organizational skills; and a solid background/experience in events management.
Position assists Director with all aspects of fundraising, event planning and implementation for UCP.
The Events Coordinator reports to the Director of Development.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist with identification of event committee members and sponsors
Assist volunteer committees to ensure integration of
UCP mission, goals and objectives
Coordinate scheduling of event committee meetings; assist in preparing meeting's agenda
Assist Development Director in creating sponsorship levels for solicitation
Coordinate mailings & solicitations for events
Solicit and follow up to secure sponsorship, program ads, tickets sales, key prospects and in kind contributions
Coordinate event logistics
Assist with venue selection and planning of events
Assist to facilitate food, beverage, dcor, layout, sponsor recognition, signage, etc
Coordinate registration and check in at events
Work w/ Development Director to define the need and number of volunteers for each event.
Oversee the identification and recruitment of volunteers
Conduct volunteer training when appropriate for events
Coordinate event logistics during the day-of-event assignments for set up and breakdown of event.
Serve as Event Manager on duty and Coordinator of Volunteers with assistance from Director of Development
Ensure fulfillment of sponsor and advertising benefits and thank you letters
Other duties
as assigned by the Director of Development
Required Qualifications
Three to five years of successful fundraising experience
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with recruiting and training volunteers; encouraging volunteers to assume responsibility for various aspects of an event
Ability to run committee meetings
Computer skills: competent in Windows XP, Word and Excel, Access Databases or similar program; familiarity with Donor Perfect a plus
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team with a range of people including trustees, donors, volunteers and staff
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in related field
