1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 DOHC GT Veloce Verde Muschio Green.
The Alfa Romeo 105/115 chassis represents ones of the greatest designs to come out Italy in mid 60s-70s. It mirrors the styling of high end coachbuilt Ferraris of the same time period. The 2000 GTV was a car built on a long string of racing heritage including the very successful Alfa GTA competition cars. To many, this is last of the great Alfa Romeo coupes. It is still a simple and straightforward driving enthusiasts car. The car combines a small lightweight chassis with a very spirited dual overhead cam 2 liter 4 cylinder engine. It is a great pleasure to drive around mountain roads and looks beautiful doing so.

The Verde Muschio exterior is excellent period correct color for the car. It is the original color code 227 that the car left the factory with. The paint is about a year old and shows very well. There are a few minor imperfections, but overall is extremely presentable. Some of the seals and rubber items have been replaced. When the car was stripped down and paint, rust issues were tended to and a few panels were replaced. A high quality job was performed and the car is very solid now. The underside of the car is solid as well. It has has some floor-pan work in the past, but is in very decent shape now. Rockers around the car are in beautiful condition. Most of the engine compartment was repainted during the respray, however there are some areas that were not and they could use some detail work. The trunk pan also has no rust. Around the exterior of the car, all of the trim and brightwork look wonderful. Lights, lenses, and glass are free of cracks/chips. It all very much compliments the appearance of the car. All of the lights work, including the French fog lights.

The interior is a beige vinyl with wood accents and black carpeting. Recently the interior received new seat covers and headliner. There are no cracks on the dash and the rear panel is free of any sun damage. All of the gauges work and the interior lighting does as well. The heat has been bypassed and the radio was deleted at some point. The rear seat belts were removed but are included and can be installed again. The car retains much of its original interior, including the carpets, many switches and dials, steering wheel, etc. With this being said, it has been well cared for and is a comfortable and very much presentable interior.

Under the hood is the very enjoyable 2 liter tipo 01500 DOHC engine. The 1974 GTV used the SPICA mechanical fuel injection. When properly tuned, it is a very nice running and reliable system. This system has been tuned and maintained and runs out well. The engine is strong and accelerates smoothly. There are no major leaks on the top or bottom end. There is no record of it being rebuilt but it operates as it should and moves the car right along. Recently the clutch, slave cylinder, and line were all replaced. Transmission shifts up and down well and holds in each gear. Second gear syncro is a little sticky at times but is not too bad. Mechanically, the car is very solid. The car has new brake calipers, pads, new Michelin tires. The Cromodora Daytona wheels fit the car well and are a nice change from the steel or minilite wheels you see so often.

It has been lowered on Eibach springs, something that transformed the feeling of the car. Handles very well and is lots of fun to drive.
